Meet Juliana Whitney.
Juliana has had an entrepreneurial heart throughout her entire life, but her success really took off when she entered the up-and-coming cannabis industry in 2015.
Throughout the years, she has found incredible success by providing consultation to cannabis businesses to help them get them off the ground and improve their internal operations.
Here are three questions we asked Juliana about her success:
How did your journey into cannabis consulting begin?
“After proving that consulting was something I could do by helping Deep Roots get open, I decided to pursue it and left the dispensary with no signed clients and no income and started networking. Eventually, a paying client was referred from Ohio for a cultivation application process and it all kept going from there.“
How did you know that was an idea worth pursuing?
“It was something I liked doing because of all the problem solving and room for optimization, it was the lowest overhead venture to begin, and I had seen other people find a lot of success with it.”
How did you grow your idea into what it is today?
“ I took on a lot of different types of projects doing everything from competitive licensing mock facility audits, business diagnostics, guiding state regulators in walk throughs for certificates of operations — to market feasibility research, training, recruitment, and investment deck writing.
Through involvement in all of these different business development pieces, along with building relationships with owners and investors and hearing their experiences, and then watching the industry function, progress, and trip up; I continued to synthesize all the information, and my approach developed over time.”
